02/12/2010 MARCH 19TH VCAN MEETING CANCELLATION
**Our March 19th VCAN Meeting has been cancelled, and will be rescheduled for April. This cancellation is due to a lack of interest in the meeting format. The April meeting will still offer a training format, with 3 CEU's offered to those who are eligible. Anne Dorwaldt is making her CORE data coaching available to VCAN members, via phone and e-mail. Please expect a phone call from Rita Johnson, VCAN Admin. Coordinator, regarding this coaching format [in order to gauge interest and discuss setting up sessions]. Questions/Comments? Please reply to this Discussion. Thank you.

We are excited to offer a CORE data and social marketing presentation from Anne Dorwaldt! Anne Dorwaldt, MA, is the Assistant Director of Research Programs at the UVM Office of Health Promotion Research. She also has 25 years experience directing research projects focused on health behavior change, many of which have used mass media and other social marketing strategies as the main piece of their intervention. She has been involved in 3 major public health studies that used media as the main approach/intervention. She also served as the UVM site evaluator for Harvard School of Public Health's College Alchohol Study which studied environmental approaches to reducing college high risk drinking. Anne also serves as a media consultant to the Vermont Department of Health's Strategic Prevention Framework grant, which supports alcohol and marijuana prevention interventions for 12-25 year olds across Vermont. Following Anne's presentation, she will be available to offer coaching with individual colleges, to assist with interpreting CORE data and devloping social marketing campaigns. We will also offer a 'Meet Your Coalition' Luncheon, offering colleges an opportunity to become acquanted with their local coalition(s), and build partnerships. We also have 3 CEU's pending, for those who are eligible. Members, let's hear from you about interest in attending, usefullness of this format, and ability to attend. Thanks!
